Cathy Wilkes represents the UK at the 58th Venice Biennale in 2019, creating delicate, deeply moving tableaux from found domestic ephemera: dried flowers, washed linens, chipped saucers, and papier-mâché mannequins. Her installations evoke grief, maternal labor, and spiritual quietude.
