Conrad Shawcross creates monumental mechanical sculptures and kinetic installations that investigate geometry, astrophysics, philosophy, and early scientific experiments. Constructing intricate wooden gears, rotating light arms, and tetrahedral steel lattices, Shawcross crafts devices that resemble Victorian scientific apparatuses attempting to visualize intangible mathematical hypotheses, fourth-dimensional space, and temporal paradoxes.
