Glenn Ligon explores language, race, civil rights, and queer desire through stenciled oil-and-coal-dust text paintings, neon sculptures, and archival print suites. Borrowing texts from James Baldwin, Zora Neale Hurston, and Jean Genet, his works trace the physical and political legibility of Black existence.
