Louise Bonnet is a Swiss-American artist associated with Contemporary figurative painting. Across Painting, the work investigates distorted bodies whose swollen proportions turn comedy, shame, desire and physical discomfort into painterly subjects. Meaning develops through the relationship between process, display and lived cultural experience rather than through a single signature motif.
