Martine Syms is a leading artist whose work spans video installations, cinema, performance, and typography to explore how Black identity, vernacular gestures, and gender performance are mediated through television, cinema, and digital algorithms. Creator of the 'Mundane Afrofuturist Manifesto' and the feature film 'The African Desperate' (2022), Syms examines algorithmic conditioning and contemporary visual language.
