Mathieu Mercier received the Marcel Duchamp Prize for conceptual sculptures that dismantle the boundary between mass-produced DIY hardware, utilitarian industrial design, and modernist geometric abstraction. Reworking pegboards, plastic pipes, and shelving, his work examines functional aesthetics.
