Mella Jaarsma is a cornerstone of Indonesian contemporary art and co-founder of Cemeti Art House. Constructing wearable architectural shelters and body cocoons made from treated animal skins, bark cloth, and cocoons, her performative costumes interrogate cultural identity, religious boundaries, and human vulnerability.
