Melvin Edwards
b. 1937 · American
Melvin Edwards has developed a powerful sculptural language from welded steel, chains, tools and industrial fragments. His Lynch Fragments series, begun in the 1960s, compresses histories of racial violence, labor and resistance into dense wall-mounted reliefs.
