Zarina Hashmi, who worked professionally as Zarina, used paper, woodcut, cast metal and architectural forms to explore home, displacement, language and memory. The 1947 Partition of India and a life lived across multiple countries shaped a practice in which maps, floor plans and Urdu text become spare emotional structures.
