Arthur Boyd
1920–1999 · Australian
Arthur Boyd developed a deeply personal figurative painting practice around biblical stories, war, landscape and race. His Bride series used the image of an Aboriginal man and white bride to address racism and social exclusion, while later Shoalhaven landscapes became central to his mature work.
