Emma McIntyre is a New Zealand artist working across Painting. The practice centers on thin, stained and gestural layers that let drawing, color and accidental marks coexist in open-ended abstract space. In relation to Contemporary abstraction, formal decisions remain closely tied to the cultural, social and material conditions surrounding the work.
