Francesca Woodman

1958–1981 · American

Francesca Woodman created a concentrated body of photographs in which the female body appears blurred, hidden, pressed against architecture or merged with domestic interiors. Working largely in Providence, Rome and New York, she used self-portraiture without treating identity as stable.
