Kapwani Kiwanga won the Prix Marcel Duchamp in 2020 and represented Canada at the 60th Venice Biennale in 2024. Trained in social anthropology, Kiwanga creates subtle architectural installations utilizing shade cloths, sisal fiber, and color gradients to investigate colonial trade routes and disciplinary architecture.
