Kwame Brathwaite photographed the politics, music, fashion and community of Harlem and the Bronx from the late 1950s onward. As a co-founder of the African Jazz-Art Society & Studios and organizer of Naturally ’62, he helped shape the 'Black Is Beautiful' movement through images of the Grandassa Models and Black cultural life.
