Across Drawing; painting, Sydney Cain has developed a practice centered on ghostly figures and architectural traces used to address Black ancestry, memory, disappearance and the unstable archive. The work is best understood in relation to Contemporary drawing, where material choices and visual structure carry as much weight as subject matter.
