Verne Dawson is an American artist associated with Contemporary painting. Across Painting, the work investigates myth, astronomy, calendars and folk histories woven into idiosyncratic figurative and landscape paintings. Meaning develops through the relationship between process, display and lived cultural experience rather than through a single signature motif.
