Wangechi Mutu developed a distinctive practice from collaged female bodies assembled out of fashion imagery, medical illustrations, plants, machines and animal forms. Her work has expanded into sculpture, bronze, film and immersive installations that combine mythology, ecology, gender and postcolonial critique.
