Antonio Dias emerged in 1960s Brazil with graphic, politically charged paintings that combined bodies, weapons, comic-like signs and diagrammatic space. After moving to Europe he developed a more conceptual language of grids, text, paper and installation while maintaining an interest in power and circulation.
