Artist
Chung Sang-Hwa
b. 1932 · South Korean
Chung Sang-Hwa developed a labor-intensive painting process based on folding, cracking, peeling and refilling grids of acrylic paint on canvas. Repeated cycles build pale surfaces whose apparent simplicity depends on sustained physical work.
