Artist
Etel Adnan
1925–2021 · Lebanese-American
Etel Adnan was both a major writer and painter, moving between Beirut, Paris and California. Her small paintings use blocks of saturated color to compress mountains, suns and landscapes into direct abstract structures, while leporello books join drawing, writing and calligraphy.
