Saloua Raouda Choucair was a pioneering Lebanese modernist whose work combined abstraction with Islamic geometry, architecture, modular sculpture and an interest in Sufi poetry. After study in Paris she developed interlocking sculptural forms she called Poems, whose parts stack, repeat and vary.
