Gino Severini linked Italian Futurism to the Parisian avant-garde. Living in Paris from 1906, he absorbed Neo-Impressionism and Cubism while developing Futurist images of dancers, trains and urban spectacle. After World War I his work became increasingly classical and decorative, and he later worked extensively in mosaic.
