Hernan Bas is an American artist associated with Contemporary figurative painting; queer art. Across Painting; drawing, the work investigates languid male figures, literary references and romantic landscapes shaped by queer desire and adolescent self-invention. Meaning develops through the relationship between process, display and lived cultural experience rather than through a single signature motif.
