Jules de Balincourt is a French-American artist associated with Contemporary painting. Across Painting, the work investigates social scenes, landscapes and invented geographies rendered in saturated color and an intentionally unstable sense of place. Meaning develops through the relationship between process, display and lived cultural experience rather than through a single signature motif.
