Meschac Gaba is best known for Museum of Contemporary African Art, a twelve-room installation developed from 1997 to 2002 that includes spaces such as a Library, Game Room, Restaurant and Marriage Room. The project used the museum format itself to question how African contemporary art is categorized and valued.
