Pauline Boty was the only female painter closely associated with the first generation of British Pop. Her paintings and collages combined celebrity imagery, sexual politics, contemporary events and saturated color. Her career was cut short by cancer at twenty-eight, and her work was largely neglected for decades before substantial reassessment.
