Peter Blake became a defining figure of British Pop through paintings and collages built from celebrities, wrestlers, toys, badges, advertisements and Victorian ephemera. His design for the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover gave his collage sensibility an unusually broad cultural reach.
