Artist
Allen Jones
b. 1937 · British
Allen Jones emerged in the 1960s with paintings and sculptures that combined Pop color, fetish imagery, fashion and the body. His 1969 furniture sculptures—female mannequins functioning as chair, table and hatstand—became notorious and have remained central to debates about objectification and misogyny in postwar art.
