Daniel Spoerri became known for tableaux-pièges, or 'snare pictures,' in which the remains of meals and ordinary tabletop arrangements were fixed in place and turned vertically onto the wall. He later developed Eat Art projects that treated cooking, eating and social exchange as artistic media.
