Eiko Kishi is renowned for architectural stoneware sculptures created using a labor-intensive technique called saideiko, in which colored clays and crushed stone are inlaid into fine incisions on the clay body. Her faceted, geometric vessels suggest eroded monoliths, geological strata, and ancient dry-stone walls.
