S.H. Raza
1922–2016 · Indian
Syed Haider Raza was a founding member of the Progressive Artists’ Group in Bombay before moving to France in 1950. His early landscapes gradually became more abstract, and from the 1980s the bindu—a central point associated with origin, energy and concentration—became the organizing principle of many paintings.
