Sung Neung Kyung is a foundational master of the Korean experimental avant-garde and a central pillar of the Space and Time (ST) group in the 1970s. Renowned for his radical performance Reading Newspapers—where he methodically sliced out all text from censored military-regime newspapers, leaving only blank grids—Sung pioneered institutional critique under authoritarianism.
